Commercial Development Manager

To shape and develop new multichannel business ideas that generate new / incremental revenue, improved profitability and/or customer engagement and satisfaction, in line with HoF strategy.


Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

·         Accountable for identifying, shaping and developing commercial development ideas that deliver new revenue/profit or cost savings

·         Evolve and grow existing commercial propositions across all channels to drive further revenue/profit growth

·         Accountable for launch activities, including customer and marketing activities

·         Own key revenue and profitability targets associated with your commercial development propositions, meeting or exceeding targets set

·         Own and manage the delivery and integration of new commercial development into existing propositions, influencing proposition and product roadmaps to ensure correct prioritisation

·         Accountable for ensuring any business change requirements associated with new commercial developments are identified and delivered

·         Identify and assess emerging trends, technologies and competitor/sector offerings, building into the commercial development strategy as required

·         Perform feasibility assessments on new idea, ensuring investments are made based on credible business cases and aligned to business strategy

Accountable for managing 3rd party products and services used in the creation or running of commercial developments.


Skills, know-how and experience:

Must have:

·         Demonstrable success in developing new commercial propositions from identification and concepting, through to launch. Provides clear roadmaps, engaging relevant parties to deliver excellence

·         Ensures an effective understanding of business priorities, adapting recommendations/opportunities to meet that strategy

·         Demonstrates sound and pragmatic judgement, balancing pace, risk and business value to reach decisions which are well informed and actionable

·         Is proactive in defining, planning and delivering change to achieve targets and objectives which realise beneficial outcomes

·         Constructively challenges convention and seeks new ways of achieving better results by taking alternative paths, whilst behaving consistently and with professional integrity at all times

·         Demonstrates a passion for emerging technologies and trends

·         Ability to think and act strategically but implement change tactically when required, dealing effectively with ambiguity

·         Commercially astute, deep understanding of financial mgmt. and levers associated with commercial development

Experience managing 3rd party suppliers and partners to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes
