Job Title: Data Governance Analyst

Reporting to: Head Of Web Operations

Role PURPOSE: Accountable for implementation and maintenance of the product data compliance, working to improve the quality and consistency of data throughout House of Fraser.  Focus on speed to market and reduction in returns rate for products across estate.


  • Assist in set-up and maintenance of Product Types, Attributes and Values within the PIP systems.
  • Assist in the set-up and maintenance of the different PIP hierarchies within the PIP systems (Product Types, Brands etc.)
  • Provide training and support to PIP users, both on-source and off-shore, ensuring guiding principles and supplier compliance is understood and adhered to.
  • Work with other key functions within House of Fraser including Business Technology and Mercatus Admin Teams.
  • Analyse Product Types, Attributes and Values, to validate PIP compliance, including testing and cleansing data.
  • Liaise with Own Bought, Concession, SEO and CBO teams to validate, update and cleans all PIP Product Data.
  • Support the implementing and workflow of new initiatives to help reduce web returns rate.
  • Manage changes, updates or validation of category PIP sheets.
  • Analyse Product Type moves and liaise with Business Tech teams to implement.
  • Analyse the quality of data across House of Fraser products to ensure PIP Compliance.


  • Participate in projects or carry out any other duties that may be outside the standard remit that will benefit the company

Skills and Experience Required:   

  • Understanding the principles of Data Governance.
  • Able to interpret and analyse data.
  • Data Cleansing, Migrating and Maintenance. 
  • High attention to detail.
  • Computer literate with a sound knowledge of data software.
  • Logical and methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Having interpersonal abilities.
  • Proactive and self-motivated.
  • Able to work to strict deadlines.
  • Having good written and spoken communication abilities.
