The role of an Information Security Analyst is to support the House of Fraser information security function in remaining compliant with key industry regulations e.g. PCI DSS/GDPR/DPA etc. The position will also require the successful applicant to work closely with the Information Security Officer in executing against the defined information security strategy e.g. maturing the risk management process, scheduling vulnerability scans and penetration tests, help document security requirements against internal and external facing projects etc. Applicants are expected to have an Information Security / Science / Mathematics based background with ideally 1-2 years’ experience within an Information Security or Data Governance field. In return, the successful applicant will receive training and development and be supported in becoming a cyber-security professional.


  • Support the ISO (Information Security Officer) in executing the information security strategy
  • Work with stakeholders across the business to support a ‘privacy and security by design’ approach
  • Update monthly reports and briefs designed to provide senior executives with an holistic and accurate view of the businesses information security posture
  • Aid the organisation’s efforts in becoming GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) compliant e.g. data discovery, driving ownership of data, help constructing an application and data register etc.
  • Support the ISO (Information Security Officer) where appropriate with incident response and risk reporting activities e.g. monthly risk forums, articulating and communicating risks, dealing with regulatory authorities such as ICO (Information Commissioners Office) etc.
  • Work with the ISO (Information Security Officer) to ensure that all business policies are aligned to support the organisation while fulfilling key regulatory requirements e.g. PCI/GDPR etc.
  • Develop strong relationships with senior stakeholders to promote a more risk aware culture across the business

Ideal Candidate for this role will have:

  • Ideally a degree / MSc within Information / Cyber Security. Alternatively, Mathematics or a strong Science background would also be welcomed.
  • Preferably, at least 1-2 years’ experience of working within an Information Security or Data Governance position / field.
  • Strong enthusiasm and willingness to learn in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of Information Security tools and concepts such as HIPS/IDS/Firewalls/AV/WAF etc.
  • Working towards or a desire to attain a CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional). Other IT qualifications e.g. ITIL V3, PRINCE2 etc. are also welcomed.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to change while supporting others to behave and operate in a similar way.
  • Self-Awareness and confidence to work independently and take responsibility for their own development (House of Fraser will support with training and development)
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
  • Positive “can do” attitude in working with others to bring about resolution to tasks and issues
