Job Title:                     Learning Designer

Reporting to:              Lead Learning Designer (Design & Technology)

Role Purpose:             To design and deliver engaging and commercially driven learning content making use of the latest techniques and technologies in order to support the HR people strategy.

Location:                    Swindon Office (occasional travel required)

Key Activities:    

  • In conjunction with the Lead Learning Designer and key stakeholders across the business, identify and prioritise learning needs that support the business strategy
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders and develop project plans to ensure that learning objectives are clear and deliverable in the expected timeframes. Challenge if required and manage expectations
  • Design learning solutions that are appropriate for the business need.
  • Work with external solution providers when required ensuring objectives are achieved on time and within budget
  • Strive to continuously improve and develop skills in learning design
  • Develop content in line with company brand guidelines and quality standards using appropriate templates, colours, fonts and tone of voice
  • Organise and prioritise workload appropriately to deliver within agreed time and budgetary constraints
  • Become an expert user of House of Learning, able to use the portal from a learner’s and an administrator’s perspective.
  • Upload content and monitor its usage and feedback
  • Use reports to analyse trends and identify issues and improvements
  • Work with the L&D Administrator to provide 2nd line user support, raise bugs and carry out testing to ensure quality standards are maintained
  • Adjust content in line with feedback and keep up to date
  • Proactively provide feedback to HR/L&D colleagues on design and technology to encourage individual and team performance improvement

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Has a proven track record in design and delivery of a range of technical and interpersonal skills learning solutions
  • Experience of learning design from analysis to implementation
  • Continuously improves performance in line with industry best practice
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and non-verbally to transfer knowledge and skills
  • Can influence at all levels and acts as an Ambassador for learning technologies and the L&D Team
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrates creativity and attention to detail to produce the best quality learning content
  • Excellent standards of written English
  • Experience of creative digital design – e-learning, video production, photography and graphic design
  • Expert user of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Powerpoint
  • Proficiency in e-learning design software such as Articulate Storyline, and creative tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud or similar
