Job Title:  Product Owner – Web 

Reporting to: Product Manager - Web

Role Purpose:

This is an amazing opportunity to join a Product team that’s passionate about delivering world class customer experiences.

You will be responsible for developing and optimising the digital experience across the website, with a particular focus on reducing friction in the checkout and delivering a best in class post purchase customer experience.

Using insight, testing and data you will continually refine your product to drive engagement and improve conversion.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    

 

  • Together with the Product Manager, create and refine a roadmap which meets the objectives and KPIs outlined in the Digital Product strategy
  • Work closely with Insight and Customer Experience teams, analysing customer data and user research to inform and define appropriate customer experiences for the product
  • Continuous engagement with stakeholders and SMEs across functional areas to ideate, capture and refine the product backlog
  • Understand needs of the wider business, defining stories, acceptance criteria and prioritising the backlog accordingly
  • Champion KPI-focused product development, with particular focus on traffic, conversion and AOV
  • Employ a test and learn approach, leveraging MVT capability to shape product development
  • Clearly communicate objectives and goals ahead of every release and measure success post release
  • Participate in daily stand ups, sprint planning, review meetings and retrospectives as well as leading end of sprint demos
  • Keep abreast of competitor and industry trends to ensure the product stays ahead of the competition

Skills and Experience Required:

Proven track record of operating as a Product Owner in a digital product capacity, ideally from a retail environment

  • A dynamic individual and a digital enthusiast with a passion for putting the customer at the heart of everything
  • Have a fanatical focus on continuously driving product development that delivers on product KPIs and business benefit
  • Able to build and maintain strong relationships with people from across the business, including stakeholders, insight, engineering and creative teams
  • Analytical mind-set, with a passion for identifying and resolving issues and the ability to turn findings into actions
  • A natural team player who excels at collaboration and communication
  • Demonstrable ability to take ownership and make effective decisions
  • Technically astute, with a good understanding of engineering processes and frameworks and the ability to constructively challenge at a technical design level
  • Experienced in product delivery in an Agile Scrum environment
  • Commercial acumen coupled with customer centricity
  • Provides vision and clear direction to inspire individuals and engages the team to deliver excellence
  • Experience of applying data and insight to inform decision making
  • Enjoy working in fast paced, high growth, high volume, multi-channel customer focused organisations
  • Demonstrate a proven accountability of budget ownership and control, forecasting, planning and trading
  • Passion for emerging technologies and trends, with experience of exploiting these where applicable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, particularly adept at simplifying and articulating complex topics and employing a wide range of communication styles to engage with all levels of the organisation
