Job Title:  Test Automation Engineer

Reporting to: Test Lead

Role Purpose: Understanding and documenting testing requirements; creating and reviewing test cases for both manual and automation execution; executing tests and reviewing test results; creating and submitting test reports to stakeholders. Support the Test Lead; working with Product Managers and Owners, Developers and other stakeholders to plan and execute testing.



  • Involved in all phases of testing within a development project/release.
  • Understand and analyse Business, Functional, Technical and UI requirements of projects/releases
  • Creating Automation test scripts
  • Maintaining Regression test suites
  • Writing and executing manual and automation test scripts based on User Stories and business requirements
  • Maintain documents for projects/releases
  • Create reports and testing metrics as requested by management
  • Support the business users during UAT
  • Work with all stakeholders in the test process including any 3rd party suppliers and internal teams.
  • Identify and report risks.  Escalate issues in a timely manner to management
  • Participate in test reviews and retrospectives, provide required support and clarifications as needed for the reviewers
  • Ensure all testing deliverables and reports are version controlled and accessible for the testing team and other users
  • Build relationships with internal HoF teams and 3rd party suppliers.


TECHNICAL skills and Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5 years testing experience
  • Extensive Automation framework experience including Selenium Webdriver on Java framework
  • Experience of development methodologies including Waterfall, Agile, TDD/BDD
  • Experience using test Managements tools such as ALM, Spirateam, JIRA, Zephyr
  • Experience of working in a CI/CD environment using tools such as Jenkins and GIT
  • Good understanding of different device and browser testing
  • Good understanding of retail and eCommerce systems and processes
  • ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing
